As first discussed last week, our clients often ask us about entertainment ideas for their weddings and events – usually wanting something different and something their guests will remember and be talking about for a while! Over the next few weeks we will be looking at various options on the blog and you may have seen our post last week, Entertainment – Celebrity Guest.
This week we are going to look at food and drink. This may not be an area that immediately springs to mind when it comes to entertainment as food and drink are usually just a given. This is true, but why not use it to wow your guests and try out a few different things?!
Rather than just your traditional bar, why not have a few pretty drinks stations as well – manned by mixologists who can whip up cocktails for your guests? Frozen fruit stirrers and flower filled ice cubes can also be very pretty for a summer event.
There is no doubt that guests like to be fed and what better to get the party started than with special and plentiful canapes. Speak to your venue or caterers about the different options and what you can do to make things look pretty as well as taste great. Use inventive ways of displaying and presenting the canapes too, as that makes a huge difference.
A dessert or sweet/candy table is another popular way of entertaining guests and is always very popular. It is not a new thing, so just try to be inventive in what you have on it and in the way that you display.
A few other different ideas for your wedding or event could be to use doughnuts, margarita ice lollies, heart sugar cubes, gourmet jelly shots or even Baileys (or milk) and cookies? There really are no limits – think about what you like and then how you can incorporate that into your day.
Our clients are often asking us about entertainment ideas for their weddings and events – usually wanting something different and something their guests will remember and be talking about for a while! Over the next few weeks we will be looking at various options on the blog and today we are starting with celebrities.
Strictly Come Dancing’s Kristina Rihanoff & Robin Windsor at a Temple Gregory event at The Savoy
On a very basic level many weddings and events are the same. There are people dressed nicely, a carefully planned menu, and some form of music, dancing, or entertainment to keep people busy. This is simply the world of events, and it is probably why many people who wish to set their wedding or event apart consider something a bit different. A celebrity guest is not something you see at every event, so definitely an option to consider. This is not to say that your event will not be special without one, it is just something to think about if you are looking for a little extra.
The best way of finding your celebrity is through an agency. For example, you may want to consider booking celebrity speakers through MN2S. This agency, and others like it, exist specifically to represent celebrities and help people to book them for speaking events or performances. So once you know what kind of celebrity you would like (sports personality, speaker, singer or dancer to name a few) and if you do not have a planner to do it for you, research which agencies best represent that field and make some enquiries.
What do you think – is this something you would want for your wedding or event? Have you done it in the past?

Happy Wedding Wednesday! We love our sparkle here at Temple Gregory, so when I came across this sparkly wedding inspiration board I just had to share it with you. That is such a beautiful bouquet on the left.
Creating the wow factor at your wedding is always very important to us here at Temple Gregory – and is something we specialise in – we love a bit of luxury and grandness and want to share a bit with you on the blog.
Following our previous post on gorgeous hanging wedding décor, we are going to be sharing some more ideas to wow your guests over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out.
Today we would like to focus on ceremony decorations. The ceremony is what your wedding day is all about and in terms of decoration can often be overlooked – so we are going to show you what can be done.
When they reached the third book, he had glued the pages together, cut out a secret compartment for an engagement ring, and proposed!! Awww! The photographer was then quickly inspired to read the books and they planned the shoot from there.
Luxury and romance are two of our favourite things here at Temple Gregory, so we thought we would apply that to a few beautiful wedding and honeymoon destinations to provide you with a bit of inspiration.
When we think about a romantic city, Paris inevitably comes to mind. The Eiffel Tower, the historic palaces, the streets of Montmartre and its luxurious hotels – all create the perfect setting for a proposal, wedding or romantic honeymoon.
Another city, which is synonymous with luxury and elegance is Monte Carlo. A place that can truly make you feel like a Princess – just like the beautiful Grace Kelly and Prince Ranier III on their wedding day.
Udaipur in India is somewhere I have wanted to go for a long time – with its lake palaces and fabulous architecture – full of beauty and culture. Perfect for a honeymoon or wedding. This is the City Palace in Udaipur shown below.
I wanted to share some more fabulousness from Belle the Magazine – hanging wedding decor. As Belle says – your venue ceiling may not be your first thought when it comes to decorating your venue, however just think of the fabulous impact you could create – a real wow factor. Here are a few examples –
